FAQ’S
As wedding photographers, we understand that planning a wedding is both exciting, time-consuming, and time-sensitive.
To help you make the best decision as quickly as possible, we have included below a list of frequently asked questions.
Q: I would like to hire you to shoot my wedding, how do I start the process?
Thank you <3
The quickest way to reach us would be through our Facebook page, with your wedding date. We can respond through there or phone. If we are available, and you’ve decided to choose us as your photographer, I will need both your legal names, then I will send a contract for you to sign and you return with a minimum 25% retainer. After that, you can check “find a photographer” off your wedding to-do list. At some point, if possible, we would like to meet you both in person so you can get to know your future photographers and can ask us everything you need.
Q: How far should we book in advance?
As soon as possible! We recommend reserving your wedding date as soon as you decide that we’re the right wedding photographers for you. Booking early has the benefit of providing you with the ease of mind of having secured your preferred wedding photographer, which means that you’ll have one less thing to worry about and one more thing to scratch off your wedding planning list! This year we’ve had quite a number of bride and grooms book us over a year in advance. If you’re not the plan way in the advance type, no worries. Check with us for availability, you’ll never know.
Q: Do you travel?
Yes! We do! We love to travel and will generally arrive at least the day before the event to help ensure that unexpected travel delays do not cause any issues, plus we scout out the locations and your venue. Let us know where you are and we’ll figure out the best way to get us to you.
We live out of town, how will this affect our consultations? While we would love to meet up before the day, busy schedules and distance may prevent that. However all decisions can he handled remotely. Then again we could meet with your trusted friends or relatives if necessary.
Do you charge extra for travel and hotel accommodation?
Yes. There is a travel fee of .35 cents per km from Kirkland Lake and return, the photography is expected to start quite early, if your wedding event or the length of attendance exceeds eight hours or finishes at unsuitable hours, then reasonable overnight accommodation will be charged at cost. We have all of this covered in our contract and we will review it with you before committing.
Q: When and how do we pay? What is your payment structure?
This is up to you! We require a 25% non refundable retainer to secure your wedding date. As stated in our contract the full balance is due 60 days prior to your wedding day. Some bride & grooms pay the full balance immediately, some do bi-weekly or monthly installments, we will work with you to build the best payment structure for you.
We accept cash, e-transfer & credit.
As a courtesy for paying the full fees upfront, you will receive a 10% off the total price of service (with exception to any later additions). This option is only available for couples whose weddings are two or more months from the time of booking.
Since we reserve the time agreed upon and will not make another reservation for the specific period, retainers are non-refundable even if the date is changed or cancelled for any reason. If date is changed, we will try to work with you to accommodate!
